Complimentary medical screenings and preventative health and dental care services ensure Esperanza associates and their family members have the opportunity to live healthy lives. Once a new family enters our program, an Esperanza field employee will connect them with one of our partner health clinics nearest to their home.
Their children receive basic vaccinations, women receive PAP tests that will be offered every six months and the entire family undergoes examinations and dental cleanings to discover and address any health concerns. All of this is provided free of charge to the families through local clinics that receive support from Esperanza.

Through Esperanza's partnerships with public and private health care providers, the organization is able to offer these essential services free of charge, which we feel is the right of every individual. On top of complimentary services, we have also arranged for ongoing special services as well such as general medicine, rehabilitation, OBGYN, physical therapy, and HIV/AIDS testing & counseling. These benefits are currently offered for $1.50 per month, which covers their entire family for pediatric care, dentistry, physical therapy, and prescription medicine.
Esperanza not only connects our clients and their families to clinics near their homes, but also offers a special program through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Clinton Foundation to to reach people infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. Esperanza is the leading institution in providing microfinance services to people living with AIDS in the Dominican Republic. Our program is creating a positive precedent for other microfinance institutions around the world to assist PLWAs with not just subsistent medical treatment, counseling and education, but giving them the financial assets to help them support themselves and their families.
