Lois is the mother of four who lives in the northern part of the Dominican Republic in the city of Puerto Plata. A little over eight months ago, Lois and her family contracted tuberculosis and had to sell most of their belongings to pay for treatment and blood for their son. Her husband Marino, also infected with TB, works for a hardware company delivering cargo various places, making very little.
