The Esperanza Ambassador Program is a leadership development opportunity that equips future leaders in the
nonprofit sector through the work of microfinance in an emerging economy. This program is intended for
undergraduate students interested in raising awareness and support for economic development and poverty
alleviation efforts in the Dominican Republic. Our ambassadors are passionate, driven, and world-changing
individuals ready to engage their University to seeing an end to poverty.

Microfinance is a banking service which exists to serve the material poor in emerging economies. Through this lending process, loans are distributed to entrepreneurs for investment in their business.
